Pick up your treasure map at the first studio you visit. Then have your map stamped by each artist in their respective studio. See you in November!

Odds and Ends in the Studio….Beaded Beads

Odds and Ends in the studio…

As some of you may know, it’s easy to get into an obsessive, creative mindset when you learn something new. For an artist, this is not a rarity. Suddenly, an art buddy shows you a new technique they learned in a workshop or from a  book and you find yourself making a surplus of thingamabobs for which you have as- yet undiscovered uses. So it was for these beaded beads. One of my beading buddies came over for studio time and showed me how to whip these little marvels up. I couldn’t stop making them.

STUDIO SHOW AND SELL

Hello Everyone!

We are so excited to announce the First Annual “Women’s ART Works” Studio Tour and Sale on the last Saturday in April! Willi Eggerman is our founder and fellow collaborator. Nine creatively talented women will be in their studios on April 30th from 11:00am-5:00pm sharing their work space and their art with the public.

I will be at The Honey Beadery talking about my Intuitive Bead Embroidery Workshops and selling lampwork beads. I will have my jewelry-making supplies set up if you would like to purchase a fresh pair of earrings made on the spot with my lampwork beads. I will also have my last remaining paintings in the garden for viewing and purchase (if the weather is agreeable).

If you have been curious about Intuitive Bead Embroidery and want to learn more, this is a great time to come by and check it out.

The Honey Beadery studio is full of eye candy. There are lots of nooks and crannies to explore so, come on in and take a look around as you enjoy a cup of tea and a healthy snack.

We are also offering a chance to win an art piece from each of our participating artists. The more studios you visit, the more times your name gets thrown into our hat of possible winners. We will draw the names at the end of the day and notify the winners on Sunday. Pick up your treasure map at the first studio you visit and bring it to each studio to be stamped by the artist. Don’t forget to have it stamped!

This should be a fun day of experiencing wonderful artwork and meeting the local women artists who make it.

Looking forward to seeing you!

Alison

New Life

This is the finished piece with the previous title of “Taking Back July.”  After I lived with it for awhile, I decided that it needed a different title.  There is a lot to this piece and what it revealed to me went much deeper than I originally thought.  Looking at and living with each finished beadwork piece is an important part of this intuitive and personal process.
